The slow blanket

Many moons ago, I started to use my leftover sock yarns to crochet some small granny squares.

Every now and then, when the leftovers pile is overflowing, I crochet some more squares and add to them to my little project bag holding them.

It’s been almost 2 years since I started working on this crazy idea. Even though I knew it would be a long term project, I didn’t think it would be that long a project.

It’s growing, square by square.

Each new sock yarn project add a new colour.

It is certainly my slowest project ever.

I knit more socks so that I can add more squares. Right now, as of this afternoon, my blanket project contains 110 granny squares.

And it is only 76×82 cm.

It would matter if it wasn’t one of most loved projects to date.
