A week or so ago, I blogged about using some stash yarn to make myself a Hitchhiker. Well, it is done.
And ended up quite big.
I really love it. I love how the colours have worked with the garter stitch and the bias of the pattern. I knitted it on bigger needles than the pattern called for, so it has a lovely drape. I can see that being worn a lot.
(If you want more details – though there’s not much to say about it really – everything is on my project page)
For the first time in weeks, I sat at the sewing machine. I made 2 project bags.
They are just perfect. Maybe a tad on the big side for sock projects, but perfect for bigger ones such as shawls, etc. I’m really pleased with how they turned out and I can see myself making many more of those, maybe in different sizes. I used this pattern / tutorial and it was relatively easy (though next time, I’ll pay more attention to the part where you square the bottom).
One of these bags has already been put to use. It’s hosting my latest WIP.
Socks 2-at-a-time, with my almost perfectly rounded toes – I love ergonomic toes for ultimate comfort, but I find that round toes makes me happy too.
The yarn is Koigu KPM and Koigu KPPPM (the little bit that rolled at the top) and it’s very lush to knit with. I do love to use sock yarn with Nylon in it, but I don’t mind making exceptions for this yarn. Ooo, it is SO very nice. If it wasn’t so pricey, I could certainly see myself building up a stash of those darling little skeins.
