Three years ago, we were in France for our second wedding.
We had been married civilly since May, with our friends for witnesses, but wanted a religious ceremony with our families around (and some friends, too!).
The weather was fantastic, we got married in the church I was baptised in, our pictures where taken in my favourite castle’s gardens (Chateau de Villandry) and had the most wonderful dinner in a 17th century farm converted into a restaurant.
But the most perfect thing (on that day)? The colchicum automnale (also called autumn crocuses) were in full bloom – well, I think they are colchicum automnale, they only bloom at the very end of September, with light purpley-mauve petals.
Here’s to many many more anniversaries, and autumn crocuses.

Gorgeous! And many congratulations!
There are lots of Colchicums at Stourhead – you’ve reminded me that I should go and visit them. Thank you. :-)
Wow what stunning pictures, and dress too. Looks like it was perfect weather for a wedding as well. Congratulations, here’s to many more anniveraries ahead.
