Life seriously gets in the way of blogging sometimes! I’ve got plenty of things to talk about, but I’m going to try to limit myself to a couple, otherwise this post will get toooooooo loooooooong.
First, an FO (or finished object). With the cold weather making its appearance, I’m gearing the family with warm woollies. All of the little hats I made last year for Lucas are of course too small now (gosh, those babies grow fast!) so I cast on for a new baby hat.
I couldn’t find anything I liked so I created my own pattern. I might or might not write it down.
Lucas’ new hat

I used some of the sock yarn I got from Kemps a while back and I LOVE the result. Lucas, on the other hand, hates it! I hope that when the weather is cold enough for this hat, he will appreciate it a bit more?…

You’ve got to agree that it is adorable, right?…
There’s been plenty more knitting and crocheting, but I’ll keep that for another time.
The latest development in my internet life has been to find myself being one of 3 new moderators in the British Knitters group over on Ravelry. This has seriously hacked into my crafting time. It’s been a bit of a debacle and even with the bestest of intentions, it has been impossible to keep people happy. I’m not impressed, to be honest and I wish some things would have been done or said differently (including myself in there). Hindsight is a bitch. I hope things will settle down and give us a chance to show that we are good people who are trying to be good new mods. I’ve got a short temper usually, but I’m actually pleased that I have managed to stay polite and non aggressive. I love those crazy buggers, even the one who’ve left, but hey, it’s ok if they don’t love me back. Nobody wants to be a mod, unless they are naive or completely insane. I’m proud to have a bit of both in me.
Stress level has been running high and I’m sure my blood pressure went up a bit, but it’s for the good of the community. I hope. I wish people are going to give us a chance. I didn’t want anything to change in that group (and the other mods were like me), but this change has been forced onto us by people who have left. Ah well… That’s internet life for ya.
Now, on the bright side of MY life, my first ad is in this month Sew Hip! I’m giving this whole advertisement in print media a go, for 3 months, to see if it gives me any return. I’m looking into google adwords too. I need people to get through the door!
My head is hurting now, and I’m going to serve myself a bit bowl of muesli with yoghurt because I, too, need a bit of comfort this morning.
