It seems that I’ve been bitten by the startitis bug. You know, the bug that makes you start plenty of new projects without finishing any? Well, I’ve got it – and pretty bad.
At the moment, I’ve got 3 knitting projects on (I could have more, but I’ve run out of cables for my needles!), 3 crochet projects and 3 quilts! (It seems I also have a weird addiction for the number 3!)
It doesn’t help that I’ve sort of signed on for the 10 shawls in 2010 challenge over on Ravelry. I thought that since I already made 2 shawls this year and that my shawl #3 was on the needles, it could be FUN to join the challenge. Yes. FUN. Then I realised it was August and I had basically 4 months to finish 8 shawls. Yep. Just about 2 weeks per shawl. Honestly, what was I thinking?! But still, since I’ve challenged myself, I will try to make it. It does help that I had planned for another 3 shawls (and bought the yarn in consequences) to make before the end of 2010.
So, let’s recap here what is done and what needs to be done.
Done:
- Madli’s Shawl
- Citron (this is a Ravelry link as I’ve never taken the time to blog about it!)
Being worked on:
What I’m planning to make:
- Another Madli’s Shawl for my mum in Malabrigo Lace Pink Frost with beads instead of nupps
- An intensively modified version of the wheat shawl that was in the Knitter a couple of issues ago in gorgeous Wollmeise Lacegarn in Ruby Thursday (also with beads instead of nupps)
- A Sweetwater in Precious 100% silk by the Natural Dye Studio
- A lacy Baktus in Noro Sekku
- A Haruni in Araucania Ranco multi in a deep purplish colour (if I can cope with the way the pattern is written, that is)
- Maybe a Cloud by Kim Hargreaves, but not in Kidsilk Aura (this is the stuff of the devil)
- Maybe a Frozen Leaves in Madeline Tosh Sock in Thyme.
That’s 11, right?
So, what am I doing here instead of knitting?! Mad as a hatter, I tell thee!
