I have been hinting at it for the last few weeks and today, I have received my first order of supplies. So it is time to reveal it all!
I am now selling quilting fabrics! My range is tiny, but I hope to expand it, slowly but surely, provided that my customers like my choices!
For the moment, you can find my fabrics on ebay, under the name Little Fabric Store. I should receive more fabrics pretty soon: I’m awaiting delivery of lots of dots! Moda Essential Dots in all colours available and Moda American Jane Pindots, in all colours available too. Since I’m starting out, I will have only 2 metres of each colours, but if a colour sells well, I’ll reorder it in bigger quantities.
So, why did I choose to open a fabric business? Why not yarn or something else? Well, it’s kind of difficult to explain. I love yarn, I love using it and buying it. And it’s pretty easy to find yarns that I like as they are plenty of wonderful shops all around the interwebs (Pure Purl being one of my favourites!). When I started quilting, I couldn’t find stuff that I really really wanted to buy. Well, I could, but it was mostly in the US. So it got me thinking. I’ve been in fabrics shops all my life, since my grand-mother was a seamstress: she used to take us there when she was working on projects or when she wanted to make us stuff. For me, a fabrics store has always had this Ali Baba’s cave feeling. Now, I’ve got my own Ali Baba’s cave! And it’s wonderful!!
I’ve had my first sale this afternoon, an hour or so after I put it on on Ebay. I was ecstatic! It’s already cut. I just need to print the invoice and the address and that will be ready to sell tomorrow!
I love the Moda Bella Solids. They’ve got a shine to them. They would make wonderful quilt sashing and backing (they are only 44 inches wide, so pieced back!). The teal I’ve got in stock is absolutely luscious! I can see myself using that in one of my projects! At the moment, my bolts of teal solids and Cherish Nature prints are next to each other and they look fantastic together: I think I might bundle them together.
If you’re a visitor of my blog and would like to purchase some of my fabrics, please leave me a message with your email address here and I will give you better prices than on Ebay, as an opening gift!

Oh wow!! Well best of luck with that!!!! Evay is banned at work, so I’ll have to check out your shop when I’m at home! I hope it goes well for you xx
Thanks for the well wishes!
Do let me know if there is anything you’d like and we’ll sort something out for ya! ;)
Order placed – I have *no* idea what I am going to do with it (or rather too many ideas!) so I will be inspired when the fabric arrives.
Best of luck with this.
Thanks! I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ll make with it. Your package will be on its way to you today.
