Squee! #3

The postman (well, postWOman, I should say) has been very kind to me last week. It was like she had something for me every day! I LOVE receiving mail, even bills, because it gives me a certain sense of existence, if that makes any sense at all? But I love it even more when it is parcels of goodies that I receive.

From Thursday to Saturday, this is what the lovely lady from Royal Mail has brought to my door.
Squee!
The first 3 are fabrics. The blue stripes and dots ones are a poly-cotton blend, a bit on the light side. I’m not sure what I’m going to make with them. Maybe some baby bedding stuff. Next are 3 half yards from Clothworks Fabrics’ Candy Collection in Lime. They’re followed by 5 fat quarters of Nicey Jane by Heather Bailey. I have been drown to lime – prink – orange mixes lately. Probably because it feels so fresh and so Spring-like. Next thumbnail is a rotary cutter set, with cutting mat, rotary cutter and a ruler. It also came with enough fabric to finish my first quilt and do some more projects. Next are 2 books, gifted by my mother for my birthday. They are both very pretty and I see myself using them a lot. Finally some yarn, sent by Kim from Purepurl. It’s a nice combination of Lorna’s laces’ Shepherd Socks in Blackberry, Old Rose, Periwinkle, Powder Blue and Turquoise. With it, I am making an Easy Ripple Afghan, well more like a baby blanket, actually.

Oh, and because I got up early and sorted out lots of paperwork and money saving stuff I should have done a long time ago, I rewarded myself with some more fabric. Actually, I had overpaid my credit card about 1 year ago (I never use it!), so it was “free”!…
Moda Boutique Jelly Roll
I have been looking at those Moda Jelly Rolls for a while (even before I took the quilt’s plunge). I LOVE Moda fabrics (at least on the pictures). Yesterday, someone said on the UK Quilters group (Ravelry group) that we should do a quilt-along using jelly rolls. So it was a reason good enough to indulge! Now, I’m waiting for it to arrive so I can decide what contrasting colour I will want to use with it.
