Last Thursday, I received my beginner’s quilting pack that I had bought a couple of days before from Ebay. I was pleased by how fast it arrived. I did wait all day long before starting to play with it, as I didn’t want to rush into it and make silly mistakes.

I used the templates to cut some card papers shapes to try different blocks types.

In the end, I went for the “simplest” one, the first star in my thumbnails above.
And after going through a HUGE pile of ironing, I rewarded myself with my first cuttings and sewing. I made my first block.

It was not perfect, but for a first try, I was quite pleased with myself!
