Squee! #2

Last Thursday, I received my beginner’s quilting pack that I had bought a couple of days before from Ebay. I was pleased by how fast it arrived. I did wait all day long before starting to play with it, as I didn’t want to rush into it and make silly mistakes.

I used the templates to cut some card papers shapes to try different blocks types.

In the end, I went for the “simplest” one, the first star in my thumbnails above.

And after going through a HUGE pile of ironing, I rewarded myself with my first cuttings and sewing. I made my first block.

It was not perfect, but for a first try, I was quite pleased with myself!

The guide was about using the templates with paper piecing (or foundation piecing? correct me if I’m wrong). The guide wasn’t extremely clear about this whole paper stuff and I couldn’t get my head around it.
