Squee 1

Long time, no blog post! I have been busy doing exciting crafty stuff which required all my attention. But I’m going to catch up with a series of “squee” posts! Here is the first.

My amazing crafty week started on Wednesday when we received a giant box full of books. My husband had ordered 6+ months worth of reading material for his commute (SciFi books) and being the kind wonderful and lovely man that he is, he had added to his order the first 4 Vogue Stitchionaries. BEST. (early). BIRTHDAY. PRESENT. EVER! First, because it was on my Amazon wish list: I love when one follows my hints about what I want for birthdays and Christmases. Too many times, I have received gifts that didn’t hit the spot (not from the boy though, because the boy listens to me). Second, because the books are absolutely gorgeous. I love them. The layout, the pictures, the samples! It made me want to drop what I was doing just to try on some of those stitch patterns. I resisted. Just. But my fingers are itchy with the possibilities (and eczema, but let’s not go there!).

Look at the pretties!

Some patterns look like a real challenge, with several wraps around the needles and such. But it’s perfect to get your imagination going. And to remind you that you can do some pretty crazy stuff with only 2 needles or a hook and a little bit of lovely thread. Now to find some shelf space to put those books on!…
