I have finished the Madli! I will blog about it later, once it’s washed and blocked. But I’m pretty pleased with it, it looks very nice! I rushed it, because I have some other projects coming in and I wanted to focus on them. I still have another Madli to make for my mother and I will start it soon. Well, soon-ish. I’m not looking forward to winding up the yarn (it is so boring!) and starting the same repeats over again. But I will do it. Soon.
In one of my previous posts, I talked about me wanting to quilt and sew. I didn’t think that would happen anytime soon. But then, a new group was created on Ravelry for UK Quilters and it gave me a kick in the right place. I bought a starter kit with all you need for a first quilt, except the cutting tools. If I definitely catch the bug, I will get myself a cutting mat, some rulers and a rotary cutter. But first, I want to see if it is doable. I don’t have a sewing machine, so everything will have to be handmade and that might “rain on my parade”.
I don’t know what I will make with my first quilt project. A cushion, maybe? I’ll see when I receive my kit. I can’t wait! I’m already thinking about making a baby sized quilt for my wee boy (Mr Peepants), made of lovely blue, yellow and green fabrics. Wouldn’t that be nice?
The other project in the pipeline is a crocheted baby blanket. Not for me. Or anybody in my family / close friends. Nope. It is for Kim of Pure Purl. She’s asked the people in her Ravelry group if we would be wanting to create pieces for her to take on shows. I volunteered to crochet a blanket. I’m quite excited about it. I’m pretty much a process knitter / crocheter so I don’t care too much about the end results. But making the items is where I get my kick! I can’t wait to see what yarns she’s chosen for me to work with. I’m sure it’s going to be brilliant!
Oh and of course, there is my Petrie tank top that I am working on. I’ve started with the front (I always start with the front) and I’m halfway through it. It’s a quick knit. I should be done in no time!

how’s this for scary *stalking* behaviour? I have a ‘spare’ sewing machine that i’m more than happy to ‘loan’ you for a few years. It’s currently sitting in my loft.
However if you are doing straight quilting (not fancy swirly stuff yet) and as you say you live in a tiny flat I have a *tiny* sewing machine I’m happy to give you if you like.
I also sew so can show the basics for the kiddy clothes etc..
I don’t mind this kind of stalking. ;)
And wow! That’s a very generous offer! I am not sure what to say, really!
