I bought a starter kit with all you need for a first quilt, except the cutting tools. If I definitely catch the bug, I will get myself a cutting mat, some rulers and a rotary cutter. But first, I want to see if it is doable. I don’t have a sewing machine, so everything will have to be handmade and that might “rain on my parade”. In some ways, I find it easier than knitting. That's weird, because there are more stitches in crochet, but you only have to deal with the crochet hook and the yarn (and not 2 huge needles!). It is also incredibly fast (see the little squares in my sidebar? A couple of hours for all of 'em). There are plenty of tutorials around here and I'm sure youtube got plenty of awesome videos. I've got myself a crochet hook, so am determined to teach myself. Have also bought some embroidery thread... Have the same problems in terms of sewing/ quilting though, if only my flat was a little bigger and my pay cheque included a few more zeros, I might be in with a chance!!
