Baby jackets

Back in September, my husband agreed to go ‘into town’ (he hates it so much) so that I could check the craft supplies at John Lewis. There I found some lovely light blue wool / yarn, perfect for a baby boy. I had some patterns in mind already, so I vaguely knew what I would need. So I got a couple of balls of Sirdar Snuggly 4ply and Sirdar Snuggly Snowflake.

For the first jacket, I followed the pattern found in ‘Chic Knits for Stylish Babies’ called Precious Layette – jacket. It was really easy to knit and put together. My only regret is the bottom hem: I followed the pattern to the letter, but I should have made a picot edge like the cuffs and neck.

For the second one, I knew I wanted a hooded jacket. I search for patterns online but couldn’t find anything. The gauge of the yarn was the same as one used for a hooded jacket in ‘Chic knits for Stylish Babies’, so I followed the dimensions but changed a few things about it: neck band, pockets and buttons, so it feels more like my pattern than anyone else.
